Blue Ridge Parkway custom license plates celebrate the world's first linear park and the great unspoiled views along the entire length of the 469-mile road. The plate cost $20 and to date has over 20,000 subscribers amounting to a significant conservation fund. The proceeds from the sale of the vanity plates go to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation. This has allowed the license tag program to achieve what the BRPF historic purpose; when income is sufficient the grant funds are made available to the program's partners.

BPRF Executive Director Houck Medford states, The Blue Ridge Parkway is an irreplaceable asset to the southeastern United State that is under assault almost continuously from poorly planned development that forever destroys the vistas and views that the parkway architects worked so hard to give us. The partnership of the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation and conservation organizations gives us more options for the protection of these vistas.

The goal for the plates is 50,000 subscribers, creating a pool of funds that will help local land conservancies with operational and overhead costs.

Host of the High Country Hotel Giving Program is a giving program in which local lodging establishments are helping to protect the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the High Country by inviting their guests to make a contribution to the High Country's future by making a donation to High Country Conservancy.

How it Works
Typically each participating lodging establishment automatically adds $2 per stay to your bill, as a direct contribution to HCC. If you choose not to contribute, they will gladly remove the amount from your room bill, no questions asked.

Each lodging establishment has made the generous decision to suppport our efforts, and felt that a contribution of $2 per stay seemed reasonable to preserve this area's natural resources for future generations to enjoy.
